Obituary
Raymond J. Modzel, 82, formerly of Vernon, CT passed away on October 25, 2021. Ray was born in Brighton, NY to the late Raymond Modzel and Evelyn Fedigan Voisey. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army for 8 years. He was a purple heart recipient. Two of those years were in Vietnam. His specialty in the Army was Truck Master. Ray worked at NE Tractor Trailer Training School and retired from Valley Farms Trucking Company. His favorite thing to do in life was drive. Ray and Bev shared many miles together. Ray also enjoyed golf with his buddies, reading, country music, and western movies.
Ray was also predeceased by his sisters, Jackie Modzel Lees, Debbie Voisey and brother Ronald Modzel. Ray is survived by his companion of 28 years, Beverly Hurley and her children and grandchildren, his younger brother Chuck Voisey, along with numerous siblings, brothers and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a close relative Sherrill.
Per Ray’s wishes there will be no services. Interment in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in New York will be held at a later date.
