Patricia Jones

Patricia Louella O’Connor Bristol Jones, 76, was born April 21, 1946, in Hartford, Connecticut and passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. To those that loved her, she was known as Pat, Mom and Mema. Pat was the eldest child born to Shirley Gertrude Houston O’Connor and Jack William O’Connor.

Pat grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut. She was the proud granddaughter of, piano-tuner, Fred Houston, Sr. and his wife, Louella. When Pat was ten years old, following her divorce from J.W., Shirley married Francis Edward Bristol, of West Hartford. Together, for more than five decades, they loved and raised their large, blended family until their own passing. Pat graduated from Conard High School in 1964. In 1966, she married, Allen Michael Jones, and they had one daughter. Always up for an adventure, our family moved many times, across many states. Mom was quick with a smile, incredibly friendly and was always fast to make friends and keep them for life. Travel was a big part of our life, in addition to crisscrossing the nation, mom also traveled to Venezuela, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England and most recently, Italy. Throughout her career she worked as a dental hygienist and bookkeeper. Mom was a dedicated volunteer for many years with Literacy Volunteers of America, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and the Shapleigh Family Association. Pat was the Queen of her Red Hat Group.  She adored those women and the experiences they shared.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Scorso and her husband, Scott, and her sole grandchild, Vaughan Houston Scorso. Her six siblings survive her; Joyce Wolf of Manchester, CT; Roger Bristol and his wife Sue of Andover, CT; Lynne Boisseau and her husband Ronald of Lincoln, MA; Jack O'Connor of Chile; Wayne Bristol of Colchester, CT; and Charles Bristol of Colchester, CT. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Jones of South Windsor, CT and sister-in-law, Janice Ladd and her husband Larry of Bushnell, FL. She leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews, several close cousins and countless friends.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Karyn Hansen and her team at Trinity Health of New England Medical Group for their wisdom and kindness during a difficult time. We would also ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut – Hospice Care Services. They provided us all with compassion, dignity and warmth during mom’s final days.

Services will be held at Manchester Funeral Home at 142 E Center St, Manchester, CT 06040 on Monday, May 2, 2022. Calling hours are from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the service is at 4 p.m. Reception to follow at area restaurant.
