Michele Lucas

Michele J. Lucas, 69, of Vernon, CT, widow to her late husband, William J. Lucas, Sr., passed away, Friday, January 21, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Hartford on March, 12, 1952, to the late Leroy and Mary Bidwell. 

Michele grew up in Hartford, CT and attended Bulkeley High School, class of 1970. In 1989, she moved to Manchester, CT.  In April of 2019, she made her move to Vernon, CT, shortly after which she became a widow. Michele worked at Travelers Insurance Company in the early 70's, and then became a homemaker to be with her children. Michele loved her family more than anything. She was a devoted wife and loving and caring mother. People who knew Michele, instantly loved her because of her warm and welcoming personality. She looked forward to every holiday and family get together, as she loved nothing more than being with her family. She also loved to read. Her favorite author was Danielle Steele. 

During her free time, she enjoyed cooking meals for her family. She made the best meatballs and beef cutlets. She also enjoyed watching reruns of the Golden Girls. Michele was our Betty White. 

Michele is survived by her sister Joan Bidwell; five children, William Lucas, Jr., Joel Lucas, Eric Lucas and his wife Stephanie Turbiville, Sara Lucas and fiancé Akwayne Wilson, and Jenna Lucas and her husband Joseph Gaudino; grandchildren, Tre, Sofia, Madysen, Donte, Andrew, and Luciano. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Manchester Funeral Home.
