Marion H. (Hurlburt) Tobias

Marion H. (Hurlburt) Tobias, 95, died peacefully on November 7, 2022 at Manchester Manor in Manchester.

Marion was born in Hartford on June 2,1927 the daughter of Frederick “Fred” and Henrietta “Etta” Hurlburt of Manchester.  She graduated from Manchester High School (1944).  She was previously married to John G. M. Tobias in 1947, who predeceased her in 1989, and they had 5 children together.

Marion was a diligent Bible student and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1956. Marion was active in the public ministry for many years and was a faithful member of the Manchester congregation. She had many hobbies including; crocheting, needlepoint, jigsaw puzzles, cards and board games.

She is survived by her 5 children; Christina Wright, John Tobias, wife Nancy, Susan Giangrave, husband Gregory, Karen Jacobs and Matthew Tobias.  Marion is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brothers Chester Hurlburt and Roger Hurlburt, son-in-law Wayne Wright and grandchild Rebekah Giangrave.  Marion last resided in Manchester at the home of her daughter Christina Wright.

 A memorial talk will be given on Saturday November 26, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Manchester Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 214 New Bolton Road, Manchester, CT.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made at jw.org. The family would like to acknowledge with appreciation the care Marion received from her home health care aides, Manchester Manor and the loving support of the Manchester and Stafford congregations.
