Marie B. Rys

Marie Barile Rys, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Bolton, CT on April 1, 2022 with her daughter and sons by her side. Born in Hartford, CT in 1934. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School class of 1952, and married John F. Rys in 1954. Marie was always thinking of others first and loved serving in her work at Bolton High School and the VNA. 

Marie was an avid singer with the Sweet Adelines, and loved her player piano and dancing with her husband. Above all, she will be greatly missed by the loving family that she cared for over the years. She was a kind and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to celebrate with her family. They fondly remember her loving kindness, sweet smile, and her quick wit and distinctive laugh. 

Marie was predeceased by her husband John F. Rys and her sons Eric J. Rys and John F. Rye ll. 

She is survived by her daughter Paulette Smith of Coventry, CT. Her sons Chris J. Rys of Bolton, and Robb J. Rys of Manchester, CT and his daughter Erica. She leaves her brothers Gerald (Jerry) Barile of Coventry and Carmen Barile of Enfield. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Jon-Paul Smith, his wife Laura Smith and great-grandson Elias Smith of Coventry, John F. Rys lll of Willington, and Jessica (Rys) Bissett and her husband Ryan Bissett of Vernon. The family would also like to express their special thanks for the care given to Marie by her niece Jerelyn Barile. 

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 7th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Manchester Funeral Home 142 E. Center Street, Manchester, CT 06040, Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Manchester Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bolton Center Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be held this summer.
