Etienne G. Olivier

Etienne Olivier, aged 72, of Vernon, passed away at Hartford Hospital on August 10, 2023.

Etienne was born September 4, 1950, in Le Mans, France. He received his undergraduate degree in Paris and completed his graduate degree in electrical engineering at UConn.

He is survived by his wife Kathi and three daughters: Jessica Hildebrand (Eric), Karen Olivier (Jim), and Claire Olivier, and loving grandson Cooper Hildebrand. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters in France: Brigitte Binet (Jean-Marc), Dominique Olivier (Françoise), François Olivier (Brigitte), Christine Hélary, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a dedicated electrical engineer for many years at Hamilton Sundstrand. Etienne loved playing the violin and participated in local recitals with a quartet. He also loved playing ping pong at the local senior center and was a ham radio hobbyist.  He adored spending time with his grandson Cooper.

Etienne was very active in church and taught Sunday School, ushered, and helped at monthly church suppers.

A service will be held at the Second Congregational Church of Coventry (1746 Boston Turnpike, Coventry, CT 06238) at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 20th. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Congregational Church of Coventry, which he attended for the past 45 years.
