In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Nathan

James “Jim” Nathan, of Bolton, CT, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 after a courageous and hard‑fought battle with cancer. He was at home, surrounded by the family who will love him deeply, forever.

Born in Beechhurst, NY, Jim was a son of the late Jerome and Louise Nathan. He grew up in Manchester, CT, where he built lifelong friendships. A graduate of Manchester High School and the University of Connecticut, Jim carried his love of music into his work as the owner of Uncle Jim’s Record Stop in Glastonbury, a small business that became a local treasure for many years. He later worked in the telecommunications industry until his retirement.

Jim’s greatest joy was his family. He will be missed immensely by his devoted bride of 44 years, Hedy Nathan; by his daughters, Rebecca Ladabouche and Jessica Stasiowski, who admired and adored their Dad; by the sons‑in‑law he embraced as his own, Kevin Ladabouche and Jeff Stasiowski; and by his cherished granddaughters, Ellie, Reese, and Juliette, who filled his days with pride and laughter. He is also survived by his devoted brother Larry Nathan and his wife, Nancy, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jim’s circle of dear friends—some of whom have been by his side since childhood and college—remained a constant source of strength, laughter, and comradery throughout his life. Their loyalty and love were a testament to the kind of man he was: warm, generous, and deeply connected to the people he cared about.

A service honoring Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Beth Sholom B’nai Israel, 400 Middle Tpke E, Manchester, CT.  Manchester Funeral Home is entrusted with the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory would be greatly appreciated to Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
