Catherine "Cat" (Dakers) Williams, 67, of Manchester, CT entered the presence of the Lord (II Corinthians 5:8) on June 9, 2024.
Daughter of the late Aston Dakers Sr and Essie Bell (Jones) Dakers, Cat was born November 13, 1956, in Hartford, CT. Catherine graduated from Weaver High School, Hartford College For Women and University of Connecticut at Storrs. Cat was blessed with a will of determination like her parents and accomplished much while facing several health challenges.
After finishing college, she worked as a Special Education Teacher at Wish Elementary School in Hartford and later as a teacher at Oak Hill School For The Blind. Cat loved to work with individuals facing challenges in life and when you observed her in this profession, you knew she was using the gift God had given her.
A main integral part of Cat's life was her faith in Jesus Christ which she invariably practiced as she desired to grow in the Lord and share her faith with other individuals. She had a spiritual impact on numerous individuals in her 45 years of walking with the Lord (she gave her life to Christ in 1979 and never looked back). She would write letters to those incarcerated, sponsor children overseas and hold bible studies on the phone as a way of fulfilling the Great Commission. Her common questions to all: "Do you know the Lord?" "Are you ready to meet Jesus?"
Cat leaves her sons, Ron Williams Jr. and his wife Yole Anna Hines-Williams, Sammuel Williams, Daniel Williams and a daughter Christina Williams; and grandchildren Micaiah Jordan Williams and Chandellor Williams; brothers Aston Dakers Jr and wife Krystal, Joseph Dakers and wife Charlene, Benjamin Dakers and sisters Josephine Dakers-Brathwaite and husband Richard, and Rebecca Smith. Cat also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Cat was predeceased by her twin brothers Paul and Abraham.
