Majorie (Holt) Knight

Marjorie (Holt) Knight, 96, of Manchester, beloved wife of the late Robert C. Knight Sr. died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 22, 2018.  She was born on January 20, 1922 in Attleboro, MA daughter of the late Joseph S. Holt Sr. and Harriet (Quimby) Holt. Marjorie was a longtime member of South United Methodist Church in Manchester where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship Group and was an active member of quilting circles, including Piecers, Patchers & Painters. She was an accomplished quilter and enjoyed introducing others to quilting.  She will be fondly remembered by many friends who she mentored as they learned how to design and make quilts.  Another of Marjorie’s favorite activities was putting on wonderful family gatherings which took place on special occasions and also at many other times just to get together.   She and her late husband Bob greatly enjoyed taking their grandchildren on fun trips that were always most memorable. Marjorie is survived by her three children; Robert C. Knight Jr. and  his wife Jane of Manchester, Susan Chapin and her husband Steve of Liberty, ME and Janet Hussey and her husband John of Litchfield, NH, her six grandchildren:  Amanda Chapin Costello and her husband Andrew of Milo Maine, Benjamin Kjellman-Chapin and his wife Monika of Nesgrenda, Norway, Sean Hussey and his wife Marissa of Dover, NH, Bryan Hussey and his wife Brie of Londonderry, NH, Quincy Knight and her husband Derik Breiner of Gunnison, CO, and Jordan Knight and his partner Barbara Perkins of Bolton, CT and seven great-grandchildren:  Lillian Costello of Milo, Maine, Colin,  Adrea and Maeve Hussey of Londonderry, NH, Finnigan Hussey of Dover, NH, and Ripley and Willow Knight-Breiner of Gunnison, CO.. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Joseph S. Holt Jr. Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Manchester Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. in Manchester from 9:30- 10:30 am with a service to begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to the South United Methodist Church, 1220 Main St. Manchester, CT 06040.
