Catherine M. "Cathy" (Pecoraro) Rose

Catherine M. “Cathy” (Pecoraro) Rose, 81, of Manchester, beloved wife of 59 years of John H. Rose passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She was born on October 21, 1937 in Brockton, MA daughter of the late Frank and Mae Pecoraro. She was raised in Massachusetts, attended local schools and was a graduate of the Chandler School of Business in Boston. Cathy was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Prior to starting her family, Cathy was employed as a Secretary for the AP & T Company in Boston. In her earlier years Cathy was President of the former Avery Street School in South Windsor. She was a longtime Communicant of St. James Church in Manchester. Cathy was a former Co-Chairman of the Senior Advisory Board at the Manchester Senior Center where she enjoyed playing bingo, doing ceramics and was a member of the Friendship Circle. In addition to her beloved John, she is survived by her five sons and four daughters-in-law; Dennis and Laurie Rose of Willimantic, Gary and Linda Rose Newport, TN, Brian and Lynn Rose of Manchester, Tom Rose of Manchester and Michael and Elizabeth Rose of Melrose, FL, her six loving grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Calling hours will be held at Manchester Funeral Home, 142 East Center St. in Manchester on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3-5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10 am at St. James Church, 896 Main St. in Manchester. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
