Beatrice Lévesque Champagne, 76, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully Friday, September 28, 2018 in Hartford. Bea was born on May 16, 1942 in New York City, daughter of the late André and Etta (Brower) Levesque. Prior to retirement she was employed by Center City Churches in Hartford as a grant writer, and spent many hours volunteering at Peter’s Retreat in Hartford. Bea enjoyed spending time at the Bloomfield Senior Center where she was a member of the knitting and book clubs. She was an avid quilter, knitter, and gardener, and loved sharing her creations as she gave many of them as gifts.
Bea is survived by her husband Joseph Attenello of Bloomfield, her daughter Denise Champagne and her husband Sean Bailey of Marlborough, her daughter Deborah Champagne of Connecticut, and her son Daniel Champagne and his husband Stephen Zane of Manchester, as well as her four loving grandchildren Myra Lopez, Alexandra Bailey, Jason Champagne-Schadtle, and Kevin Schadtle.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate her life on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 3-6 PM at the Manchester Funeral Home, 142 East Center Street, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Beatrice’s name to the Bloomfield Senior Center, Planned Parenthood, or to Connecticut Public Television.
